LD Systems, Palmer & Co. in Europe’s highest recording studio

Publicado:

2,600 metres above everyday life, in the midst of Tyrol’s spectacular mountain landscape: with the Infinity Studio, Wilderness Studios are creating an extraordinary space for music and new ideas. High above Sölden, Europe’s highest recording studio is currently taking shape – a creative retreat that takes international artists, producers and songwriters out of their familiar routines and broadens their creative horizons. As a sponsorship partner, the Adam Hall Group is supporting the Wilderness Studios vision with audio technology from LD Systems and Palmer as well as cables from Adam Hall Cables.

The Infinity Studio was developed specifically for its high-alpine location as a modular architectural concept that can be relocated from season to season. Seven room modules form a two-storey structure that deliberately adapts to the steep topography. Housing the studio, technical equipment and infrastructure, the ground floor forms the functional heart of the building; the upper floor, with its lounge, dining and retreat areas, opens up generously onto the mountain landscape. A panoramic terrace extends the architecture into the landscape, allowing indoor and outdoor spaces to merge.

Space for the creative process

With the Infinity Studio, Wilderness Studios and the Adam Hall Group are continuing their long-standing and wide-ranging collaboration. The audio installation at the luxury hotel ‘Das Central’, the indoor DJ festival ATROPICA and the Electronic Mountain Festival at an altitude of 2,300 m have already attracted attention far beyond the borders of Tyrol. The new project centres on the artists and their creative process: under the guiding principle ‘Above the Noise’, the Wilderness Studios team is transferring its concept for inspiring production environments to a high-alpine location. Plans include multi-day artist retreats and writing camps, recording and mixing sessions, as well as selected listening sessions and intimate live formats. Bespoke room acoustics and large glazed surfaces combine a professional studio environment with views of the surrounding Ötztal Alps.

‘For more than ten years, we have been working with international artists and creatives, and we have learnt one thing: the right environment can shape a creative process just as strongly as the people involved in it,’ explain Florian Fellier and Felix Brunhuber, CEOs of Wilderness Studios.

Teaming up for great sound

The Adam Hall Group’s sponsorship covers several areas of the Infinity Studio: on the panoramic terrace, the passive version of the modular LD Systems MAILA line array system delivers seriously professional sound reinforcement. In the studio, Palmer ORBIT studio monitors are used, complemented by flexible Gravity microphone and instrument stands as well as speaker mounts. Adam Hall Cables supplies the majority of the studio cabling. The Adam Hall Group’s brand portfolio thus supports the artists’ work in the studio as well as the planned live moments against an alpine backdrop.

‘At 2,600 metres, there are no second chances. Anyone recording up there needs a signal chain that is spot on from the very first take: in sub-zero temperatures, with fluctuating humidity and for artists who hear every detail,’ comments Florian Ritter, Head of Global Brand Marketing at LD Systems. ‘That is why we are proud that almost the entire Adam Hall Group brand portfolio comes together in the Infinity Studio. For us, “Above the Noise” means technology that nobody has to think about because it simply works. We are delighted to be part of this ambitious project.’
