The new musical Masquerade has been captivating visitors and critics alike in New York City since the end of July 2025. The extraordinary concept for this production – directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus – is enthralling audiences not only with its reinterpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical The Phantom of the Opera but also with an immersive experience that transcends traditional theatre boundaries. Instead of having fixed seats, guests move freely through a multi-storey building in Midtown Manhattan and are right in the middle of the action. The special room architecture and the constant change of audience positions have placed extreme demands on the sound system, for which sound designer Brett Jarvis was responsible – a challenge that has been solved with the most extensive LD Systems audio installation the world has seen to date. The legendary former Lee’s Art Shop, on 57th Street, has been completely remodelled and is transformed into a fascinating world of experience at every performance. Each floor presents its own settings – from opulent ballrooms to mysterious catacombs. Drama, music, dance and detailed set design fuse into a production that the audience experiences up close and from constantly changing perspectives. With the new UK Show Space in Derby, England, the event technology provider headquartered in Neu-Anspach, Hesse, is opening its next showroom. At more than 100 m2 customers from the UK will have the opportunity to experience the extensive product solutions of the Adam Hall Group brands in detail on site and test them hands-on. The opening ceremony will take place on 30 September 2025, followed by the first open days starting on 2 October. Thanks to Cheval Blanc Productions and the Grand Casino Knokke, the Belgian coastal town of Knokke-Heist is home to the nation’s largest casino, which is also one of the most traditional addresses for upscale entertainment, art, and events in Belgium. Situated directly on the North Sea promenade, the hotel combines stylish architecture, magnificent halls, and high-calibre events to create an exclusive overall experience. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Bonaparte Hall: a multifunctional event space with club character, a stage, and optional dinner seating – perfect for opulent stage shows, corporate events, and live concerts. The Belgian AV rental company Twin4u recently installed a flexible LD Systems MAILA sound system to take the sound quality of the sophisticated events in the Bonaparte Hall to an exceptional level. “We were looking for a compact, elegant PA system that was also suitable for immersive applications,” explains Twin4u Managing Directors Christof and Philippe Peirsman. “In many venues, it is difficult to fly larger line array systems – either because of the statics or the lines of sight to the stage or LED walls.
