Immersive audio installation for the acclaimed New York Broadway musical Masquerade

The new musical Masquerade has been captivating visitors and critics alike in New York City since the end of July 2025. The extraordinary concept for this production – directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus – is enthralling audiences not only with its reinterpretation of Andrew Lloyd Webber's classic musical The Phantom of the Opera but also with an immersive experience that transcends traditional theatre boundaries. Instead of having fixed seats, guests move freely through a multi-storey building in Midtown Manhattan and are right in the middle of the action. The special room architecture and the constant change of audience positions have placed extreme demands on the sound system, for which sound designer Brett Jarvis was responsible – a challenge that has been solved with the most extensive LD Systems audio installation the world has seen to date.

On the roof terrace of the boutique hotel Monsuau in Cala D'Or, Mallorca, guests can enjoy excellent cocktails at sunset, listen to DJ sets and experience thrilling live shows – and all with a completely new sound and lighting system since this summer. For the stylish rooftop ambience, the installation service provider responsible for the new system, Sonomusic, developed a customised system based on solutions from LD Systems and Cameo. The audio and lighting setup is managed and controlled via the QUESTRA design and management software from LD Systems.

Over a hundred tables in a large, spacious dining area, an open kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, and lots of wood and plants. Amza's operators have created a thoroughly modern restaurant concept. Nine days full of music, art, and culture – from 21 to 29 June, the historic city centre of Maribor, Slovenia, hosted the 31st Lent Festival. Once again this year, Slovenia’s largest open-air festival was a magnet for tens of thousands of visitors. LD Systems provides sound for VANS pop-up event in Seoul

VANS stand for skating, subcultures and California. Hardly any other shoe brand has managed to maintain its "street credibility" to this day. Special "House of VANS" events also contribute to the success of the US shoe manufacturer regularly. In addition to permanent locations such as in Chicago or London, pop-up events lasting several days are attracting huge numbers of visitors worldwide. In Seoul, South Korea, VANS recently transformed an unused underground station into an urban meeting place, including a market, skate events and a DJ concert. The audio specialists from Sonic Value relied on an extensive LD Systems setup consisting of MAILA, CURV 500, MAUI P900 and more for the elaborate immersive sound reinforcement at the underground station.

At the Teatro Casa de las Artes in the small Spanish town of Laguna de Duero, culture lovers certainly get their money's worth. On the approximately 250 m2 stage, there are not only theatre performances at a high production level, but also concerts, dance events, and more. The only thing the theatre operators were not fully satisfied with was the previous sound reinforcement solution, which was a groundstack PA placed on the left and right of the stage floor. In order to achieve an improvement both visually and acoustically, the theatre's technical service provider, Cavall Studios, looked for a new sound reinforcement system – and they found the solution in the LD Systems MAILA M Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array!

Immersive Theatre Production with LD Systems CURV 500 at the Sejong Centre in Seoul, Korea

The Sejong Centre in Seoul, South Korea is the artistic centre point of the city and combines ancient Korean cultural symbolism and modern performance forms in an exemplary way. A perfect example of this was provided by the play “In This Garden We Loved”. Performed in the intimate atmosphere of the Sejong S Theatre – the theatre’s experimental stage – the artistic directors decided to use an immersive audio system to draw the audience acoustically into the beautifully lit garden landscape of the stage set. The integrator in charge, Sonic Value, used an LD Systems CURV 500 system for the all-round sound reinforcement.
