MAXIMUM Copenhagen: audio & lighting for Denmark’s new interactive experience
If an entertainment centre is called MAXIMUM, it really ought to have plenty to offer its guests. And the operators of Denmark’s largest indoor theme park chain have been following this principle for many years: bowling, laser games, escape rooms, restaurants and much more offer a wide variety of entertainment for young and old alike – and since 2026 it has, at long last, also had a presence in the capital Copenhagen. The Danish integrator Profox has been responsible for the planning and installation of AVL technology at the various sites for several years. At MAXIMUM in Copenhagen, the company relied, amongst other things, on audio and lighting solutions from LD Systems and Cameo.

Bespoke technology for a world of diverse experiences
Covering an area of around 5,300 square metres, the new MAXIMUM Copenhagen brings together more than ten attractions under one roof. From bowling and laser tag to escape rooms and virtual reality, right through to mini-golf, karaoke and the on-site restaurant ‘The Grill’, the venue offers a wide range of leisure activities for families, friends, companies and event guests. The demands placed on the technical infrastructure were correspondingly high: different areas, each with their own specific acoustic and atmospheric requirements, needed to blend together to create a harmonious overall experience.
“We have been supporting MAXIMUM with AV solutions for many years and have evolved from being a supplier to a strategic partner,” explains Jonas Jensen, Sales Director Installations at Profox. Under the leadership of Profox’s Installation Manager, Rasmus Haack, the team developed a solution that met both the technical requirements and the operator’s expectations.

Flexible audio solutions for every attraction
The sound system at MAXIMUM covers almost every area – from the mini-golf course and the bowling alley to Laserforce, the karaoke rooms, the bars, the restaurant and the kitchen. Depending on the application, Profox combined different LD Systems loudspeaker series to deliver both powerful entertainment setups and subtle background sound.
The heart of the system’s signal processing consists of several IPA 424 T DSP installation amplifiers combined with RAM ZETTA power amplifiers. STINGER 8 G3 and DQOR 5T loudspeakers provide sound coverage for the various experience zones, whilst the CFL 62 in-wall loudspeakers in the restaurant and other indoor areas ensure uniform background sound. In addition, STINGER 12 A G3, STINGER SUB 15 and DAVE 12 G4X systems are used in situations where higher sound pressure levels and greater dynamics are required.
“The solutions from LD Systems and Cameo have won us over with their quality, reliability and excellent value for money. They are the ideal solution for projects of this scale.”
Jonas Jensen, Profox

One particular challenge was to design the bowling area to suit both day-to-day operations and the wide range of event formats. During normal operation, audio and pre-set lighting scenes are played back automatically via an internal media player. For events, a DJ can also take charge of the entire system on both levels of the bowling alley and play music as required. At the same time, the restaurant and kitchen were fitted with independent audio systems.
Lighting creates atmosphere in all experience areas
The lighting design has also been carefully tailored to the various areas of use. Cameo lights add a touch of style to the mini-golf, bowling, Laserforce, VR areas, karaoke rooms, bars and various lounge areas. The equipment used includes, amongst other things, the AZOR SPOT Z300 spot moving heads, HYDRABEAM 4000 RGBW bars, and ROOT PAR 4 and ROOT PAR 6 LED-PAR lights. The setup is complemented by INSTANT HAZE 1400 G2 hazers, which create an extra atmospheric effect, particularly in the bowling area. A Cameo XNODE 8 8-port DMX Ethernet node allows all DMX components to be flexibly integrated into the lighting control system.
“Despite the tight schedule, the installation went very well. Allan Bagger and Uffe Pedersen from the Adam Hall Group supported us at every stage throughout the project.”

Partnership is the key to success
In addition to the short project duration, the logistics of sourcing materials in particular posed challenges for everyone involved. Between the order being placed and the opening, there was very little time for the planning, delivery and installation of the audio and lighting equipment. “Despite the tight schedule, the installation went very well. Allan Bagger and Uffe Pedersen from the Adam Hall Group supported us at every stage throughout the project and even delivered products to the site in person so that we could meet the deadline,” says Jonas Jensen. The result is something to be seen and heard: an integrated audio and lighting solution that meets the diverse requirements of MAXIMUM in Copenhagen and offers guests a flexible, high-quality experience day in, day out.
