LD Systems QUESTRA takes control of audio & lighting at The Grand

A majestic stage for a very special day: ‘The Grand Banqueting Suite’ in Bradford, England is primarily aimed at wedding parties from Asia and offers everything that characterises a magnificent wedding celebration: Plasterwork on walls and ceilings, neoclassical columns, gigantic chandeliers and sweeping staircases for the grand entrance. To ensure that the ‘wow’ factor is also emphasised acoustically, the team from ShropshireNet Limited opted for a multi-zone sound system based on audio solutions from LD Systems. Centralised audio and lighting control is provided by QUESTRA Design & Management Software.

Inclusive dance project “Babylon” in the hr-Sendesaal with Cameo and LD Systems MAILA®

Have we forgotten how to talk to each other? In times of ubiquitous communication possibilities? Even “Babylon – Miteinander Reden ist Gold” (“talking to one another is golden”) cannot and will not provide a definitive answer to this question. And yet LORENZ Stiftung’s inclusive dance project – which was performed on 9 July 2024 in the Großer Sendesaal of Hessischer Rundfunk – shows what can happen when people without borders come together: opportunity for all, enjoyment of art, and a strong sense of community. Under the stewardship of director and dance teacher Miguel-Angel Zermeño, a total of 150 people – professionals and amateurs, people with and without disabilities – took to the stage, accompanied by live musicians and the eCon GmbH technical team led by project manager Moritz Stüve. Together, all those involved created an extraordinary live experience with powerful images and moving music – supported by a sound and lighting set-up from LD Systems and Cameo.

Lent Festival 2024 relies on Cameo and LD Systems

Nine days full of music, art, and culture – from 21 to 29 June, the historic city centre of Maribor, Slovenia, hosted the 31st Lent Festival. Once again this year, Slovenia’s largest open-air festival was a magnet for tens of thousands of visitors. National and international artists from all musical genres performed on the large and small stages. In order to cover the stylistic diversity in terms of event technology, the organisers once again relied on a wide range of Cameo lights and a MAILA® array system from LD Systems.

LD Systems MAILA at KDKlub Horní Bříza

Top sound but with a different spin – that was the simple request made by the operators of the KDKlub Horní Bříza for the new sound system. The cultural centre in the town of Horní Bříza in the west of the Czech Republic is used for various purposes – from concerts and club nights to school dances, weddings, and discussion groups – and required an equally versatile PA system capable of adapting to every type of event. In the KDKlub’s 230-square-metre main room, the systems integrator responsible for the project Divadelní služby Plzeň opted for a suspended LD Systems MAILA system.

LD Systems provides sound for VANS pop-up event in Seoul

VANS stand for skating, subcultures and California. Hardly any other shoe brand has managed to maintain its "street credibility" to this day. Special "House of VANS" events also contribute to the success of the US shoe manufacturer regularly. In addition to permanent locations such as in Chicago or London, pop-up events lasting several days are attracting huge numbers of visitors worldwide. In Seoul, South Korea, VANS recently transformed an unused underground station into an urban meeting place, including a market, skate events and a DJ concert. The audio specialists from Sonic Value relied on an extensive LD Systems setup consisting of MAILA, CURV 500, MAUI P900 and more for the elaborate immersive sound reinforcement at the underground station.

LD Systems & Cameo at Fête de la Musique in France

In just four decades, the "Fête de la Musique" has become a global phenomenon: originating in France in 1981, the 21st of June is now considered a day of music in hundreds of cities worldwide, when musicians and artists of all kinds perform in public free of charge. Concerts were also held that day in the garden of the newly renovated Chateau Le Nessay in Brittany, which were also reported on by French television, among others. The French integrator and event technology service provider VBS was responsible for the sound and lighting - and relied on the MAILA Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array from LD Systems, among others.

Realution provides sound for MT Melsungen’s VIP area with the LD Systems MAILA

The town of Melsungen, Germany, might only have around 34,000 inhabitants – and yet it is known nationwide. This is because of MT Melsungen, which has been competing successfully in the Handball Bundesliga since 2005. The venue is the Rothenbach-Halle in Kassel, 25 kilometres away. Situated on the grounds of the Messe Kassel, the arena can accommodate around 5,000 fans at matches. Special guests can also use the directly adjacent Hall 8, which serves as a large VIP area on match days. Since the beginning of this year, the VIP experience has become even more exclusive: as one of the first event technology providers in Germany, the Realution Group has now invested in the LD Systems MAILA Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array, and is successfully using the MAILA L version in the 2,000 m2 VIP hall.

At the Teatro Casa de las Artes in the small Spanish town of Laguna de Duero, culture lovers certainly get their money's worth. On the approximately 250 m2 stage, there are not only theatre performances at a high production level, but also concerts, dance events, and more. The only thing the theatre operators were not fully satisfied with was the previous sound reinforcement solution, which was a groundstack PA placed on the left and right of the stage floor. In order to achieve an improvement both visually and acoustically, the theatre's technical service provider, Cavall Studios, looked for a new sound reinforcement system – and they found the solution in the LD Systems MAILA M Modular All-Round Intelligent Line Array!

The highest party of the year

Every year in April, the ski area of Sölden is transformed into a snow-covered dance floor. In 2023, the Electric Mountain Festival attracted around 18,000 partygoers and top DJs to the Austrian Alps. A very special event also took place on the summit of the Gaislachkogl: a Secret Party with invited VIP guests, influencers, and a live DJ.
